This tiny kitchen had worked hard for many years but it was time to give it an update. By taking a few inches from a closet on the other side of the kitchen, we were able to widen the entry into this space. We also exchanged the family room with the dining room which was a simple way to make a big change in the way the house functions. The kitchen now has a pass through opening to the new dining room area, visually opening the small area. We also enlarged the window above the sink which looks out to their beautiful garden. Wrapping tall cabinets around into the new family room gave us a place to incorporate a pantry cabinet, a landing area for mail, and a charging station for cell phones inside the wall cabinet. Open corner shelves and glass doors on select cabinets maintained the country charm.
